Our Stainless Steel Bottle proves a Winner at the Eco-Savvy Festival
Posted by: | Comments
Last month on June 19th and 20th, Planet Forward participated in the 2nd Annual Eco-Savvy Festival at Mel Lastman Square, in the heart of North York. The Festival is a free event for the public, put on by Enlightened Events, to help consumers “screen through all the green” marketing and find responsibly made products and services.
Planet Forward was thrilled to participate as an Eco Merchant showcasing its variety of quality, eco-friendly products to consumers looking to make environmentally and socially conscious purchases. Main sellers were the Planet Forward Sustainable Stainless Steel Bottle, the neoprene lunch bag, the Basket-On-The-Go and the MIY Green Cleaning Kit. Also, it appeared as though the heat on Friday drove up the demand for the short-sleeved organic t-shirts, while consumers seeking last minute Father’s Day gifts snatched up the organic cotton Baseball Caps.

Posted by: | CommentsPre-made or MIY (Make It Yourself)? That Is The Question.
If you are on the hunt for eco friendly cleaning products there are a surprising number of options on the market. Among them is a family brand, Clorox who seems to have taken a new green lease on life after years of bleaching it. Clorox green products are part of a larger trend of eco friendly cleaning products for the home. The new line of Clorox green products is called Green Works and are said to be “made with plant and mineral based ingredients and are not tested on animals”. This line of eco friendly cleaning products is quite diverse with products ranging from a natural toilet bowl cleaner to natural dishwashing liquid, and not to mention the natural cleaning wipes for those quick messes. These green products for the home are said to be 99% natural and Clorox green products have all the cleaning power of their conventional (read toxic) counterparts. But what is the customer feedback on these newest green products? Do they live up to the hype? I took to the web to find the word on Green Works.

Posted by: | CommentsDoes an art of green cleaning even exist?

If so, can one really find Zen in it? Yes and yes. I think you can find art in any performed action. As for finding Zen, I think that’s exactly what you need to truly embrace green cleaning. To find Zen is to abandon preconceived ideas or notions. To be able to look at things anew with a fresh, clean mind. It’s about growth and change which is exactly in-keeping with green cleaning because it is about a new ideology. An ideological shift away from thinking you need harmful chemicals and toxins to properly clean your home and towards using natural healthy alternatives. Which leads me to another Zen element to the art of green cleaning, there is nothing materialistic about it. It’s about making and creating your own cleaners and solutions. Using a little elbow grease rather than giving in to marketers and taking the easier, unhealthy route. It’s about taking an enlightened approach to life that takes into account more than just immediate personal satisfaction. As the Cree Proverb states “we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”.
Cleaning will always be cleaning even if it’s green. I don’t know many who love doing it but nonetheless, it has to be done. You might as well find and appreciate the art in it and while you’re at it, embrace the Zen.
