The Green MacGyver says it’s time to reuse again with another fun and simple eco friendly craft for kids. Welcome to Box Town. Your kids create their own town by reusing and decorating boxes from your home. With a bit of help from you, your child can make a toy with your old cardboard containers!

You’ll Need:
- Cardboard boxes, cereal boxes, cartons, etc.
- Tissue Paper Tubes
- Glue
- Scissors
- Colored Construction paper
- Crayons or markers
Directions:
- Cover boxes and cartons with colored construction paper (reuse square or rectangle boxes for buildings and milk cartons for houses)
- Adults can help cut out windows, doorways and tunnels if desired, or to keep it simple just color in windows, doors, balcony’s and flower boxes to decorate
- Want a chimney? Cut a tissue tube in half or leave it whole and glue it to the top of a building or house.

The Green MacGyver – An Eco Friendly Craft for Kids: Carton Sail Boats
Here is a two in one eco friendly children’s craft that is a great way to keep kids busy and let them use their imagination all at the same time. It uses juice/milk cartons that would otherwise wind up in landfills. This simple and quick eco friendly craft converts that empty carton into a self-designed sail boat. They are sure to prove a favorite of yours as it requires simple materials, easy instructions and allows for the child to use their imagination for their own embellishment. They’re also very quick to make so it get them playing very soon.
Stuff you need:
- Empty milk/juice carton
- Scrap construction paper or fabric
- Markers/paint/stickers
- Glue/Craft Tack/Craft Clay Adhesion/Double-sided tape
- Scissors
- Thin straws or long sticks

The Green MacGyver – An Eco Friendly Craft for Kids: the Egg carton Caterpillar
When thinking about a project to keep little ones occupied in the remaining weeks of summer it is a bonus to find an eco friendly kids craft project. When undertaking such a project is it best to keep things simple, so everything in their craft can be found around the house. Keeping that in mind I decided to bring you a classic ecofriendly children’s craft. It’s an oldie but a goodie but you just may have forgotten about it. The last time you saw it might have been kindergarten.
What you need
- Old clean egg carton
- Scissors
- Paint or crayons
- Pipe cleaners
- Glue
