Green MacGyver Play-Doh – An Eco-friendly Craft for Kids
By
Seems like we were just talking about eco-friendly craft ideas to keep kids busy during their summer break and here we are talking about their Christmas break. I hear there were months in between the two but I have no recollection of them. Right then – let’s move on.
Play-Doh is fun and allows for endless hours of creativity for kids but the store bought stuff is full of chemicals and toxins. This recipe is easy to make and uses common ingredients found in most pantries. Not all of us are going to have food colouring so that may have to be bought but other than that you should be good to go. This is a great eco-friendly craft that is toxin-free and can keep them busy for hours. Let’s get to it….
What you’ll need:
- 1 Large Bowl for mixing
- 1 cup Salt
- 1 1/4 cups Warm Water
- 3 cups Flour
- Food Coloring (optional)
- Mixing Spoon
- Air Tight Container
- Refrigerator
How to make it:
- Pour 1 cup salt into large bowl.
- Add 1 1/4 cups warm water, mix well
- Add 3 cups flour, mix well some more
- Add food coloring and knead into ball
- Seal in an air tight container and refrigerate overnight for best results
There you have it. Simple and fast to make and will serve to fuel creative minds for hours without toxins or chemicals. An eco-friendly craft is a great way to pass the hours while the kids are off school for Christmas break. Enjoy.
