Ecofriendly Living – 6 Tips For Your (Home) Office

A Common Sense Approach To Ecofriendly Living And Saving Money!cat_homeoffice

Here’s 6 Ecofriendly Living tips for your (home) office:

  1. Use both sides of computer paper. Once you print something and no longer need it, cut it up, staple the corner and make a notepad out of it.
  2. Use online banking. It’s safe and saves you time, money for stamps, and reduces the amount of paper mail coming to your house.
  3. Shut off your computer and monitor when you leave work for the day. Unless your computer is backed up at night on a network, there is no need to leave it on.
  4. Unplug your cell phone once it is done charging. Once that light turns green, you are just wasting electricity. Let it run out of juice first and recharge it only then.
  5. Buy it used. Anything – furniture, clothing, electronics – can be bought used in good shape. This saves one more thing from going to a landfill!
  6. Buy recycled!! It is readily available and conserves millions of trees and gallons of water.   Look for the little green recycle symbol on your products before you buy them.

I know recycling isn’t on this list but I’m assuming that’s a given.  We all recycle, right?  Do you do anything else to green you office space that’s not on this list?   Let me know so we can get it added to future blogs.  We’ll quote you on it!!  Ecofriendly living tips are meant to be passed around.
