Surf Around And Discover Green Living Blogs
By
In my opinion, the wonderful world of blogging could do with a few less of the celebrity variety and a few more opportunities for readers to discover green living blogs. Granted the celebrity blogs were novel at first. They gave up to the minute information and seemed to give the dirt, the whole dirt and nothing but the dirt. (Thankfully) it would seem that the novelty is starting to wear off now that we are seeing the ugly underbelly of these blogs.
Some celebrity blogs are little more than a mean spirited, salacious version of the lowest form of tabloids. Their purpose seems to be little more than to assassinate someone’s character and career often without merit. I must say, I too have fallen prey to their sensationalized stories with information being flashed at warped speed, but I soon grew bored and started looking for blogs that focused on ways to discover green living.
Shockingly enough, the celebrity blog culture has made celebrities of those that write the blogs. It then becomes a never-ending cycle as they make themselves newsworthy over non-newsworthy stories. The more outrageous the story they write or the more outrageous they choose to behave, the more traffic steams in and the higher the ad revenue they can command.
So is the pendulum swinging in the other direction finally? I hope so, especially with the new form of blog that helps you discover green living on the Internet. Blogs should try to entertain, engage and maybe even enlighten. This new blog tries to pose something different, fresh and hopeful as you discover green living. A green blog does more than dole out righteous tips. It helps you discover green living as it frames the world around you in a green light so that you see things a little differently. Yes, these blogs try to entertain, but also inform, letting you discover green living though new products and energy saving tips. The green blog will try and help you and the world we live in. In the end what would you rather know, how to do your part towards the sustainability of the planet or what Jon Gosslin had for lunch?
