Beauty Is Green Building Material Plus Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt + Green Building Material = A beautiful thing

Eco-poser? Not Brad.
If I had to choose between reading about Brad Pitt or green building materials, Brad would win every time hands-down. I’m a green gal and all but who can resist those eyes, that smile…? Luckily there is far more depth to Mr Pitt and we no longer have to choose.
Apparently, Brad’s dedication to green building projects does not stop at the New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward project, where he has promoted the use of green building materials and built a more sustainable community. He’s more than just a pretty face in a hydrogen BMW.
Recently, it has been reported that Brad Pitt and his brother Doug were named as the financial donors that helped the Drury University Stadium achieve the first Gold Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design “LEED” certification for a sporting arena in the United States.
LEED is an internationally recognized certification rating and accepted benchmark that measurers the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED provides building owners and operators the tools they need for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
According to a Drury news release, the Drury Stadium, located at Drury University in Brad Pitt’s hometown of Springfield, Missouri, was originally designed for a Silver LEED certification, but thanks to Brad and his bro, a donation of 600 K upgraded the original Silver certification to Gold LEED certification.
Sources also say that the 65,000 square foot center, with a 2,100 seat arena features “low-flow water fixtures, a dedicated recycling area and a solar-reflective roof and pavement materials”.
If you want more of Brad Pitt, green building materials and sustainable living, you can watch for the series debut of e2 design showing on PBS starting August 22nd where Pitt continues to narrate for the series.
We toast Brad for his promotion of green building materials, green building projects and for putting his money where his green values are.
